Ndi-Igbo Reading, UK

The essence and purpose of NDI IGBO Reading is well encapsulated in our motto, “nwanne di na mba”, which means ‘Brotherhood is possible in a foreign land’ or ‘Even in strange or foreign land, a brother or sister can be found’. In Igbo culture, the word ‘Nwanne’ is not just used when referring to biological brother or sister but instead it symbolizes our togetherness as Ndi Igbo.

The association aims to be a voice and communication link between its members and the various Igbo States, other State Governments and the people of Nigeria and its government in general. NDI IGBO Reading intends to seek and provide members with reliable information for investments and business opportunities within the various sectors in UK and the Igbo States in Nigeria.

Our History

In the beginning, the events that led to the start of Ndi-Igbo reading started during a confirmation service in June 2010. The spirit of Igbo brotherhood and sisterhood filled the venue as families connected with old friends and also made new ones. The event was so successful and binding that families present decided to create an annual end of year gathering for Igbo families in Reading.
