NDI IGBO Reading promotes the general welfare and socioeconomic development of its members. The association aims to be a voice and communication link between its members and the various Igbo States, other State Governments and the people of Nigeria and its government in general. NDI IGBO Reading intends to seek and provide members with reliable information for investments and business opportunities within the various sectors in UK and the Igbo States in Nigeria. We have a popular Igbo adage that says ‘Igwe bu ike’ which means ‘unity is strength’, and this is entrenched in our objective to foster unity, understanding, respect and freedom of expression among all members. We are a big family where every member’s welfare matters and NDI IGBO Reading will always support and be there for every member.
The essence and purpose of NDI IGBO Reading is well encapsulated in our motto, “nwanne di na mba”, which means ‘Brotherhood is possible in a foreign land’ or ‘Even in strange or foreign land, a brother or sister can be found’. In Igbo culture, the word ‘Nwanne’ is not just used when referring to biological brother or sister but instead it symbolizes our togetherness as Ndi Igbo. Hence, NDI IGBO Reading is home to any Igbo person that live within or around Reading, UK.
